About us
HanFinCal explains borrowing, credit and everyday money in plain English.
Most money advice is written for people with savings to invest. We write for everyone else: people comparing a loan offer on their phone, trying to fix a mistake on a credit report, or working out which bill to pay first when the paycheck doesn’t stretch.
Who we are
HanFinCal is a small, independent website run by an independent publisher. It is not owned by a bank, lender or financial company, and it is not a lender, broker or financial advisor.
What we cover
We publish guides on personal loans, credit scores, paying down debt and budgeting, plus short explainers on how interest rate changes reach your wallet. Our calculators let you check the numbers yourself, and our rate tracker shows current average rates published by the Federal Reserve, Freddie Mac and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
How we work
We aim to answer one real question per article, using figures from official sources and saying where each figure comes from. Some articles start as drafts written with AI tools; an editor checks and edits every article before it is published. Our editorial standards explain the process, including how we handle corrections.
How the site is paid for
The site is free to read. It does not show ads yet and no company pays us for coverage. If that changes, we will say so in our advertising disclosure first.
